HELEN'S TATHRA SUNRISE WALK

Next Activity: 26 - 29 Oct - Royal National Park and South - BASE CAMP - see program for details.

18th October

Seventeen people braved an early morning alarm and roadside wildlife to arrive at Tathra at 5.15am for this special event in memory of long term member, friend and leader, Helen. Helen's daughter and her partner joined the group for the walk. The group headed up the beach at a brisk pace till a spot was found to enjoy breakfast and to watch the sunrise over Tathra Beach. The colours were stunning and a couple of distant whales added to the experience. Some special memories of Helen were shared at this time. As the sky lightened the group headed off for the rest of the walk, meandering through Ford's Farm, across to Moon Bay and out to Wajurda Point for one of the best views on the south coast. A bit of a scramble down the hill brought the group to Nelsons where morning tea was had overlooking the lagoon. A different route was taken for the return trip which completed a circular walk ending (for most) at a cafe where refreshments and conversation ended the morning's activity.

Thanks to the leaders Eric and Di
