A lucky few members ventured further afield to Austria to enjoy a week of hotel based day walking. The walks around the Ehrwald and Zugspitze arena were dramatic in scenery with sheer slopes and challenging ascents. The area provided plenty of variety and fun - including single peak ascents, circumnavigating Ehrwald arena, crossign into Germany to walk Hell Valley (Hollentalklamm), a circuit of 3 lakes and huttes - plus kaiserschmarrn, strudel, schnapps and tinkling cowbells.
